Billing & Invoices

How Forgeon bills per organization, where to find invoices, and how compute, storage, snapshots, and credits are charged.

Billing in Forgeon is monthly per organization. Organizations let you add teammates, share projects, and centralize billing under one payer.

New orgs are billed monthly for resource usage. See Plans & Pricing for tier features and limits.

What you’re charged for

Most pricing is usage-based. If a service runs all month with a fixed size, your bill is predictable.

Common drivers that change month to month:

  • Extra RAM beyond a preset
  • High build volume or egress (if you exceed fair-use)
  • Snapshots / longer retention enabled mid-cycle

Surprised by a bill? Reach us at billing@forgeon.io — we’ll review accidental resources or attack-driven spikes with you.

Compute billing

Services are billed per second while running, based on their vCPU/RAM configuration.

  • Example: a service sized shared-1x-cpu@1024MB is the preset shared-cpu-1x (includes 256MB), plus 768MB additional RAM.
  • Pricing follows the selected CPU class and RAM. See Compute on the pricing page for exact rates.

Stopped/Suspended services: we don’t bill compute while stopped, but see Root filesystem below.

Root filesystem while stopped

When a service is stopped or suspended, we bill the root filesystem (rootfs) storage it occupies, pro-rated to the second.

  • Example: 1 GB rootfs stopped for 10 days ≈ $0.05 at $0.15/GB-month.

GPU billing

If you attach a GPU, it’s billed per second while the service runs, based on the GPU card’s hourly rate.
The service itself (CPU/RAM) is billed separately from the GPU.

GPUs are a paid feature (Scale/Enterprise). Contact sales to enable them on your org.

Volume billing

Persistent volumes are billed pro-rated to the hour, regardless of whether a service is started or stopped.

  • You’re billed for detached volumes too.
  • Free allowances (if your legacy plan or promo includes any) are applied first.

Snapshot billing

Volume snapshots are billed pro-rated to the hour for the storage they consume.

  • Snapshots are incremental: you pay only for changed data since the last snapshot.
  • Example: a 10 GB volume with 2 GB of real data and 5 daily snapshots with minimal changes might bill ~2.5 GB total, not 50 GB.

See DB Backups for engine-specific behavior and PITR.

Unified Billing (multiple orgs, one invoice)

Unify billing for many orgs under a single Billing Organization.

  • You’ll receive one invoice for all Linked Organizations.
  • The Billing Org must have a valid payment method on file.
  • Credits are shared across linked orgs.
  • Up to 100 Linked Orgs per Billing Org.

How to link

  • Create a new org and choose Link to existing Billing Org, or
  • In an existing org, go to Billing → Link to another Organization (Admins only).

Detaching a Linked Org isn’t supported yet. Create a new org and move resources if you need to separate billing.

Payment methods & credits

We process payments via Stripe.

  • Most orgs need a valid credit card on file (prevents abuse; lets us settle at month-end).
  • We may place a small pre-authorization hold (usually < $5) at signup; banks can show this for up to 7 days. It’s not a charge.
  • No credit card? Buy Forgeon Credits in Billing → Add credits (minimum $25). Usage is deducted monthly until credits run out.
  • Prepaid cards cannot be saved as a payment method, but you can use them to purchase credits.

Usage tracking

  • Compute (vCPU/RAM) — per running second
  • Storage (volumes/rootfs/snapshots) — pro-rated hourly
  • Builds — against a fair-use bucket (visible in the panel)
  • Bandwidth — standard egress is included up to fair-use; heavy egress may be billed

Check Dashboard → Billing → Usage anytime.

Free Trial reminder

See Plans & Subscription Tiers for the 7-day trial details, included resources, and what happens when limits are hit. Adding a payment method ends the trial and lifts caps immediately.

Close your account

To delete your Forgeon account: Account → Settings → Delete Account.
Before deletion, you’ll be prompted to:

  • Leave or delete organizations you belong to
  • Delete apps/projects and remove certificates
  • Remove partner extensions/integrations

Deletion is permanent once prerequisites are satisfied.

Compute stops billing immediately; you still pay for the rootfs and any volumes/snapshots.

Can I get monthly/annual invoices?
Monthly by default; annual available on Pro and above.

Do you refund accidents?
Email billing@forgeon.io; we’ll review accidental resources or attack-driven traffic spikes.

How do I export invoices?
Open any invoice in Stripe via the View link to download the PDF for your records.
